The future is JAMstack, but many people want to know: What is the tool that will allow me to build my personal blog, yet, scale to large sites and handle any sort of complexity I need? Hugo is not only the world’s fastest static site generator, but also happens to be a sophisticated build tool that is as powerful as it is flexible.
This full-day workshop will begin with illuminating the power of Hugo’s Go-based templating system. We’ll set up Hugo to work with a CMS and introduce you to some of Hugo’s best concepts for managing data and creating a website of any size or complexity.
In the second half of the workshop, we’ll explore Hugo’s advanced features by building out a static API. We will build powerful data transformers, and compile many paginated endpoints in seconds. But we won't stop at that, we'll join the forces of Hugo and Netlify to handle beautiful permalinks, HTTP headers, query parameter filtering, secure authentication, and more!
